Equal Pay day
No Gender pay gap at NewArmstrong.
Today is Equal Pay day. At many companies, women are clearly paid midner than men. Average 13%. While doing the same job. Being educated the same. Bearing the same responsibilities.
That would mean that after November 14, they actually work for free.
This is our Gender Gap for the 3 main positions we have in our company: architects and designers, project managers and modelers.
They are not completely equal: with a few young male modelers, the average age there is slightly lower, so income is slightly higher on average on the female side. There are also slightly more women who want to work four days than men.
But the rewards are the same.

We do not have a Gender Pay Gap. And women do equal work with us to men and can achieve the same. Because that’s how it should be. Our Finance manager is a woman. Our Operations Manager Design is a woman. We have very good female modelers, designers and project managers. We have and work with fantastic female techs, so don’t tell us it can’t be done. We definitely see differences between men and women when they design. But that doesn’t make one better than the other.
We see differences in problem approaches and solution directions.
But that doesn’t make one better than the other.
Unfortunately, our distribution is not our desired 50-50 (now v 37% m 63%), but that is our goal (and we still have vacancies!).
Walk the talk. Do what you need to do. But this is our belief and this is how with should be.
