Concept

Art of Chocolate produces high-end chocolate products and for several major retail chains. Some of the production is sold through its own stores, including the Outlet store at The Style Outlets Amsterdam.

The Style Outlets

The Style Outlets is the only Outlets center in the suburbs. With a Catchment area of 2 million inhabitants within 3 quarters of an hour’s drive and the tourist flow of visitors from Amsterdam and Schiphol a unique proposition. The Outlets Center is at the Sugar City site. In its design, the mall references the old factory buildings that once stood on the site.

The Outletcentre has a healthy mix of food retail, food&beverages, fashion and FMCG.

Design

On behalf of the Landlord, NewArmstrong designed a number of retail units for tenants. The Unit of Art of Chocolate is notable for one small footprint, but thus just the right proportion to display the products. The pre-packaged products are displayed on large wooden islands and wooden wall racks reminiscent of the crates used to ship chocolate.

For the presentation of chocolate, technique is very important.

Light determines the perception of the product. Fixtures were chosen with the right light color and intensity to showcase the products well.

Project Management

The construction process must take place in an operational Shopping Mall. In order to obtain the proper permits and approvals, NewArmstrong is also liaison for Tenant and Landlord. To open the site on time, we created and monitored the overall planning and construction schedule.

From project management, we also handled party selection, tendering and procurement, contract management, cost monitoring and execution control.

By creating a clear drawing set in advance that serves as the basis for pricing, we ensure that the bids are sound, the agreements on the work to be performed are clear and conclusive, and the risks are minimized.
