Expansion supermarket Albert Heijn Gendt
Expansion supermarket Albert Heijn Gendt
In Gendt, Gelderland, the expansion Albert Heijn supermarket Gendt has been completed after a renovation. This Albert Heijn from Franchiser Hans Geveling has been expanded to include the adjacent unit that until recently housed a drugstore. After the drugstore left, the retail area of the drugstore was added to the store. This expanded the retail area but also increased the opportunities for an open and transparent store layout.
Lay Out
The Lay Out of the stores is thus in a different walking direction than before and the entrance is from two sides where consumers enter at the service plaza. On this is the new service counter, flowers and plants, the parcel locker and the exit from the self-scan plaza. By using lower furniture at the entrance, the connection between the service plaza and the store is very open. From the service plaza, daylight from the light street enters the store. This makes it a bright, spacious and clear entrance. Because of the linking of buildings, the number of columns is a challenge for the LayOut. Where the columns could not be reduced, an optimal layout was sought in which the columns were fitted into the LayOut in the most optimal location.
Reuse
The expansion involved weighing which items needed to be renewed and which could be retained for reuse. Because of the self-scaping square and the reversal of the walking direction, a lot of anagepast in the Lay Out, but the floor in the store, for example, was maintained. The facade, revolving doors, Gall&Gall convenience and part of the ceiling were also retained.
Fresh square and drinks
From the entrance, consumers enter the fresh food plaza with the drinks area in the back. The bread corner has been moved more to the central part of the store. In the middle runs a wide center aisle with the action heads (Bonus) and the Always Low segments. At the end of the center aisle we have a clear marking with a large orange area that guides your eye to the offers.
