International Women’s Day 2022: 3 reasons why diversity in the workplace is an improvement.

Just like any other day, proud of all the women at NewArmstrong. There is no good reason not to have women in your company. We are equal, but we don’t always think and act the same. And that’s exactly why it’s good. We appreciate the balance they bring, we arrive at better reflections in decision-making, they provide a counterweight to the assessment of risks.
- Women ensure better cohesion in teams: they have a different antenna for the social structure and feelings in teams. By dealing with this with different questions and a different tone, teams work better together. It improves productivity, shows us new perspectives and insights and ensures stress-resistant teams. It also improves collaboration, employee retention, creativity and collaboration. That improvement is mainly in the fact that we can literally sometimes look at something from the other side, so that we can overcome obstacles faster and process changes faster.
- Women in leadership positions are more flexible in change and take less risk. In a study by Harvard Business Review , they analyzed how strategy has changed after women have been placed in leadership positions. The result: They were more open to change and less prone to risky surgeries.
- Organizations with women on their teams and management attract more talent and have a stronger reputation. “In the dynamics of our contemporary work environment, more organizations are realizing that there is a real need to have a diverse form of collaboration and leadership in the workplace to attract and retain talent of all types,” said Kathryn Bishop of the Oxford Women’s Leadership Programme . The younger generations consider this as an important factor in the choice of whether or not to work for a company: 76% say they consider this, with the emphasis on female millennials. Because the reputation is strengthened, it is again possible to attract more talent and this creates an upward spiral that produces a positive return on the investment in strategic, tactical and operational levels.
We can approach customer questions from different perspectives and we can provide answers that are a good reflection of the consumer’s perception. And employees can work together better and see more opportunities to discover new perspectives. There is no good reason not to have women in your company.
