Why is this important to the real estate industry?
The basis for this lies in the Paris Climate Accord.
The Paris Climate Accord aims to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. To achieve this, countries must drastically reduce their carbon emissions. The Netherlands has committed to these goals and is striving for a climate-neutral built environment.
But also the Dutch ambition and laws and regulations as laid down in the Sustainable Renovation Delta Plan.
The ambition of the Sustainable Renovation Delta Plan is to make the built environment in the Netherlands Parisproof as early as 2040. This means reducing the energy consumption of buildings by two-thirds compared to the current average. Specific targets are set for different sectors, such as offices, retail, education, healthcare and housing.
Want to know how to uniformly report on CO2 emissions on real estate? And how to do that easily with building models and BIM?
