A new Burberry Flagship store has opened on PC Hooftstraat.

History of Burberry

Burberry is a UK-based fashion house in fashion and accessories. Founded in 1921, it became world-famous for its fabric gabardine: a breathable fabric made waterproof by an impregnated yarn. This fabric became best known with the “Haymarket check. In terms of pattern, it is a Scottish Tartan; but Burberry did not want to give the brand a Scottish allure so registered it as an English “check.

Interior concept Burberry.

With wooden floors, white walls with black coves that conceal all the installations, this is a concept where the interior is a quiet backdrop and the collection stands out. To realize this image, it is important to be able to properly conceal all installations.

Measurement and 3d scan

The challenge of this project was in the lack of clear drawings of the existing situation. After demolition, we did a 3d scan (with our Faro Geoslam) and overlaid the design over the scan to see where bottlenecks arise. Based on that, the interior could be modified before it went into production.

NewArmstrong worked in the role of Local Architect on Burberry’ s store on PC Hooftstraat. The building was completely gutted and a new store was built into it by ToBuild.
